Thanks to fire department

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Ashtabula City Fire Department. On November 25, 2006, my father Don Cuddy, a retired firefighter for the city, passed away. Over the course of three days, the department displayed what an honorable group the City of Ashtabula has, protecting and representing them. Where else would you find a homemade dinner prepared and delivered with condolences, an honor guard for the entire calling hours, a visitation to calling hours by every on duty fireman, attendance at the funeral by the on duty personnel and an escort to the burial site with a fire truck?
The honor and respect bestowed on my father was awesome. Many of the younger firefighters never met my father, but they did not waver in their duty. There was not one sign of aloofness. That is something very uncommon for the young men of our society.
All of these efforts helped ease our loss and made my mother Thanks again to the retirees, for passing on this tradition and thanks to those current firefighters for a job well done. I hope you are able to carry this show of love and respect for your fallen brothers, because it is appreciated more than words can express.
Thanks again from the Cuddy family
